Marijuana.ai is an 18+ social journal for cannabis. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. You must be 18 or older to use the app.

What we collect

• Account: email address, and (via Sign in with Apple) an Apple-provided identifier; a username and optional display name, bio, and profile photo you choose.
• Your content: check-ins (strain/product, mood/effect tags, notes, optional photos/videos), comments, likes, and friendships.
• Location (only if you choose): each check-in has a location setting — Precise, Approximate (stored rounded to ~1 km), or Hidden (no location stored). We never store location more precisely than the level you pick, and never for a "Hidden" check-in.
• Device/technical: app version, device type, and crash/diagnostic data to keep the app working.
• We do not knowingly collect payment data, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How we use it

To provide the feed and social features, secure your account, honor your privacy choices, respond to reports/moderation, and fix bugs. We do not sell your personal information.

Who can see your content

You choose the audience for each check-in:

• Friends (the default) — visible only to people whose friend requests you've accepted;
• Private — visible only to you (a personal journal entry);
• Global — visible to anyone signed in to Marijuana.ai (a public post).

Only your Global check-ins are public; Friends and Private posts are never shown to people outside that audience. Each check-in also has its own location setting (Precise / Approximate / Hidden). Profile basics (username, display name, avatar) are visible to other signed-in users so they can add you.

Sharing with service providers

• Supabase (database, authentication, storage, hosted in the EU) — our backend processor.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple.
• Sentry — crash/diagnostics, if enabled.
• We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users' safety.

Storage & retention

Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure (EU region). We keep your data while your account is active. Photos/videos are stored privately and served via short-lived signed links.

Your rights & choices

• Delete your account anytime in the app (Profile → Delete account). This

permanently removes your profile, check-ins, comments, likes, and uploaded media.

• Access/correct/export/restrict — email hello@marijuana.ai. Depending on where you

live (e.g. GDPR in the UK/EU, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to processing.

• Change your default location privacy anytime in Profile.

Children

Not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors; if we learn we have, we delete it.

Sensitive-data note

Cannabis use is sensitive in many places. We minimize what we store (especially location) and default new check-ins to Friends visibility, but only share what you're comfortable being associated with your account. Remember that a Global check-in is public to everyone on Marijuana.ai — choose Private or Friends, and "Approximate" or "Hidden" location, whenever you'd rather keep something close.

Changes

We'll post updates here and update the effective date; material changes will be notified in-app.
